
In 1970 Stevie Wonder left MoTown and recorded two solo albums by himself. Berry Gordy was stunned to discover that this was the case with Stevie Wonder. Berry Gordy signed Stevie Wonder's request for greater autonomy, full creative control and right to all his songs. Stevie Wonder signed a contract of 13 million dollars with MoTown Records in 1972. This entitles Stevie Wonder to a higher royalty and greater creative control as well as the right to his own music, which few artists had gotten in that period. Wonder's songs could now discuss controversial issues like poverty,war and drugs. His album from 1972, Music Of My Mind was the first to be released under his brand new MoTown contract. Talking Book was Stevie Wonder's album that was released in the late year of 1972. It's still an important piece of music. It included Superstition as the album's number one song.
